Hello, Due to the Javax to Jakarta migration, the next release of Apache Fortress will require >= Java 11. Similarly, the next release of Apache Fortress Rest (enmasse) requires >= Apache Tomcat 10.
The Apache Fortress Web (commander) relies on Apache Wicket which has not released Jakarta compatible binaries yet, so it will need to be deployed in Apache Tomcat 9 or prior. Since this break’s compatibility, our next release will be a 3.0. The code can be tested in the Jakarta3 branch for each of the repos. Expect the release to be early 3Q 2023. I realize this may inconvenience and confuse. That’s the last thing that I want to do. So, if it creates problems, let us know, and we’ll see what can be done. I’m not going to rule out maintaining a 2.0 stream for while, giving time to move to the latest containers.
