Hi all,

As a GNOME translator, back in the GNOME 2.24 release I downloaded a
live image from http://torrent.gnome.org/ with the purpose of testing
the translations of the Catalan team. That image is based on
Foresight, and the first thing it surprised me was that there was only
a subset of the GNOME languages available in the login screen (Catalan
not being one of them). Once logged in, I thought I would be able to
either choose or install a new language, but I did not manage to do
that. Even when trying to use the package manager, it stays forever on
"Refreshing software list".

In any case, I do not understand why not all GNOME languages are
installed per default, since on a 4,2 GB image I would think space
should not be an issue.

Yesterday, I downloaded the GNOME Developer Kit [1], also based on
Foresight, and I encountered exactly the same problems.

Is there something that I am missing? Is there any workaround to:

a) install a new language
b) get the package manager to work

Note that these are my first experiences with Foresight, so please
take this into account in case I am asking something obvious.

Thanks.

Regards,
David

P.S. I'm using VirtualBox 2.0.4_OSE to run the vmware images.
