Hi all.

Congrats on the recent progress of Xft/Fontconfig. I have quite a nice
looking desktop now thanks to you all.

I'm having an interesting problem with one particular font, "MS UI
Gothic"

I have my .fonts.conf written so that for sizes >8 and <16 it uses
embedded bitmaps. This works all fine and dandy for the Japanese
characters in this font, but for the western alphabet, characters tend
to get bunched together. (see attached screenshot)

It seems like there needs to be about one pixel of space that needs to
be added in between each character, but can this be done with something
in the .fonts.conf? Or is this a 'problem' in some other library. (the
shot is from mozilla, but it happens in nautilus and other gtk2 based
programs, as well as qt3 based programs as well)

Thanks,

Ken
