Firebug's footprint on browser startup is pretty small. From what I remember it only adds the start button and menu entries and watches the tabs for whether it needs to be activated or not. So I wonder what could cause this. Does this also happen when you reset Firebug's options (with Firebug open click the Firebug menu > *Options* > *Reset All Firebug Options*)?
