Your OS version is normally a far more important piece of information
than your Mac model.
I found on OS 10.9 that the build has an error but doesn't terminate:
/usr/bin/cc -O -DPRINTER_NAME=\"lp1\" -DPRINTER_CMD=\"lpr\" -Wall

-D__x86_64__ -D__DARWIN__ -DNO_ALLOCA
-DCSRG_BASED -I/sw/include -c -o writegif.o writegif.c
writegif.c:149:4: error: non-void function 'WriteGIF' should return a value
[-Wreturn-type]
return;
...
This error is presumably what is causing the 'plotmtv' executable not to
be built. We'll need to fix that.
