I want to check here - in your original post when you showed the figures
for fail2ban, are you saying that the 1205264 was real memory and 17088 was
virtual memory which has now gone down to zero, or did those figures come
from somewhere else?

What's the specific command you're running to get the output you posted in
your first message?
