Just installed fail2ban on CentOS 7.2.1511. Working great for banning SSH
attempts!
However not so much for mysql. I know the jail is started and configured
properly but the problem lies in the time. You see, the time logged in
mysqld.log is in UTC format, it shows 23 o'clock right now but the server
time is 19 o'clock. This server is GMT-4.
I've tried everything to change the format of mysql log file in /etc/my.cnf
but nothing is working. I'm now looking at a fix for fail2ban.
I cannot modify the findtime variable to make it work because the time of
the log file of mysqld.log is always in the future from the time of the
server.
I've searched the web for over an hour on this issue but no solution. I'd
like another solution than changing the server to UTC time.
Thanks!
