Hello List,

I'm looking to contribute my time to help with fail2ban on OS X (Darwin).

While beginning my testing of fail2ban (0.9.1) on the latest OS X (10.10 -
Yosemite), I have already encountered a number of small issues in the
default configuration of fail2ban that are incompatible.

To start, I am curious to know what the lists thoughts are on supporting
older versions of operating systems. For example, currently
"paths-osx.conf" contains the configuration "syslog_authpriv =
/var/log/secure.log", however, starting with OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion),
sshd now logs to /var/log/system.log. Should the path in "paths-osx.conf"
be changed to this new location, as it would now support the last 3
versions of the operating system, or should there some how be a split
between these two settings? Personally, I am in favor of the mindset that
the latest version of fail2ban should support the latest version(s) of the
OS, while people that are still using the older version of the OS should
then use an older version of fail2ban.

Thank you for your feedback. I look forward to helping contribute to this
project.
