by any chance, was the machine offline, or the server unreachable, when
you started Evolution? The full fix is here:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-data-server/-/issues/402
and it will be part of the 3.46.x series, due to it changing underlying
data format, incompatible with the previous Evolution(-data-server)
versions.
