as always, it depends on the use case. To those whom do not print it's
not a problem.

It's because the print dialog you see is managed by the WebKitGTK, not
by the gtk+ itself, if I recall correctly.
In any case, good you found a way to make it work (written in the first
reply to the same message as this reply).
