Hi,
the KDE importer knows only KDE 4.3 directories, that is:
.kde4/share/apps/kmail/mail for mail
.kde4/share/apps/kabc for contacts
No guarantee, but if the structure looks similarly in your .kde, then
try to create a symlink to it names .kde4.
As always, make a backup before doing this, in case something went
wrong, you'd be able to return to a working version.
