Check out qmail too. It's capable of acting as a forwarder, it's lean and a lot easier to work with than sendmail (not to say that sendmail is evil). spamassassin and rblsmtpd are options and It has some really nice badmail{to,from}features and is probably the strongest on security that I've seen so far.

Even though most folks lean toward postfix these days it still might be worth a look for you if your considering sendmail. I know many admin types that prefer qmail in this situation because of it's security, ease of config and low maintenance.
