Please show the results of;
1. $ ls -l /usr/lib/pkgconfig
2. $ ls -l /usr/share/pkgconfig
3. $ ls -l /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig
4. $ ls -l /usr/local/share/pkgconfig
Actually pc files are installed in
$prefix/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig. And $prefix should be /usr/local
by default.
