In my case, I live in an appartement, don't have a proper desktop pc nor a laptop. My computer (which is actually a desktop form factor) is connected to my TV through hdmi. My TV is not smart, but I didn't cared because I always knew that my pc was going to be connected to it. Now, I do watch series, listen to music, but I also use it as a regular pc (web browsing, some officematic stuff, gaming with steam), so having an embedded web browser would be a nice-to-have feature. The fact that I don't use xmbc permanently (or epymc now) is that fact, that web browsing is what I use the most and can't do that without having to close the MC.
