especially if it causes "hard crashes" :). a driver that causes a "hard lockup"
of the kernel is something i am instantly suspicious of, as that should NEVER
happen. it is the drivers job to ensure that it never does. :(

btw. that is just fine - you've got a solution. if radeon drivers work fine
(and for at least some set of people they do - they didn't for me last time i
had an ati chipset), then great. but i will say that the intel chips do well
too these days - the modern ones. i don't game... much. i busted out steam and
halflife 2 the other day (steam as a client has... some issues. i need to bring
that up with the valve guys), so intel that do glsl work exceedingly well
(except the gma3150 (and of course gma500 which isn't an intel gpu - it's
an sgx)... and that's a story of its own).
