As Raster says fglrx are pretty much a lost cause. especially if it causes "hard crashes" :). a driver that causes a "hard lockup" of the kernel is something i am instantly suspicious of, as that should NEVER happen. it is the drivers job to ensure that it never does. :( > PS. I was looking at the GeForce GTX 660. btw. that is just fine - you've got a solution. if radeon drivers work fine (and for at least some set of people they do - they didn't for me last time i had an ati chipset), then great. but i will say that the intel chips do well too these days - the modern ones. i don't game... much. i busted out steam and halflife 2 the other day (steam as a client has... some issues. i need to bring that up with the valve guys), so intel that do glsl work exceedingly well (except the gma3150 (and of course gma500 which isn't an intel gpu - it's an sgx)... and that's a story of its own). -- ------------- Codito, ergo sum - "I code, therefore I am" -------------- The Rasterman (Carsten Haitzler) [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rapidly troubleshoot problems before they affect your business.
