does it makes any difference if I keep them in different path and pay
attention to the environment path?

Currently, I use /opt/e17-git and I was planing leaving that alone and use
a new /opt/e18.

Does it makes any sense? my tingling sense tells me that you're going to
yell users when they submit bugs with backtraces filled with efl1.7
libs.....
