on my laptop both the gadget and the keys works, but if I dim using the key
the gadget doesn't update until I click on it.
also, sometimes clicking on the gadget after a key dim doesn't get the actual
level and set the brightness one step down. e.g., let's say I set the screen
lamp at 30% through func keys, then I click on the gadget to make it update
its icon but it actually lowers the lamp at 20%.
