Hi all, I am running Ubuntu 11.10 and a few days ago I compiled version 0.16.999.65643 from the website sources. The problem is that my sound doesn't work. Some symptoms are that PulseAudio manager only sees the auto_null devices and alsamixer cannot open mixer.
Now, release 55225, which is offered in Ubuntu repositories, has absolutely no problems with sound. Sound also works normally in the console, before I launch E (I am not running Unity, Gnome, lightdm, gdm or any other desktop environment or DM) so I think that something is wrong in how I compiled E. After trying, among others, to recompile everything and uninstall pulseaudio, I think that the problem lies in dbus. Has anyone had this problem before?
