Or you can add something like this in your xorg.conf section for your keyboard
device:
Option "XkbLayout" "gb,de"
Option "XkbOptions"
"grp:alt_shift_toggle,grp_led:scroll,compose:menu,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp"
The above with toggle between two languages and also implement a 3-finger
salute to kill the xserver should you need to.
