I can't speak for "most" email clients either, but one in the gui camp
that I have used for a long time (claws-mail) has reply, reply to all,
reply to list, and reply to sender.  It also allows to add, edit, or
remove any number of To:, CC:, Bcc:, and even Newsgroups:.

So does not matter to me which way this religious war goes.

Yes, it's possible to use a real email client for gmail.  :-P
