You should be able to start e16 with "/usr/local/e16/bin/e16". It should  
also be possible to use "/usr/local/e16/bin/starte16", but the script  
expects that the path to e16 is in PATH.

If you use a display manager, e.g. gdm, you would normally be able to  
select e16 as session type because e16.desktop is installed in  
/usr/share/xsessions/. However, if you install with prefix /usr/local/e16,  
e16.desktop is installed in /usr/local/e16/share/xsessions/, and gdm will  
not find it.
