I reported that a while back but never got a reply from anyone. I agree it is very annoying. Especially because sometimes you miss the window appearing and the program seems to hang because it's waiting for input on the modal window. I also think this behaviour is wrong according to the netwm spec. Thanks for reminding me to follow up on this. I think I'll file a bug report.
