It is working on my laptop. Do you see something on the /proc/acpi/battery directory with BAT1 or something approaching this ? If not it is maybe possible that the acpi driver of your kernel does not include the battery part. You can check it with dmesg | grep "Battery Slot". If you have it I assume that there is a small bug in the battery module
