Select E17 from GDM's session menu. If that's not available, create
a .desktop file in /usr/share/xsessions:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Enlightenment DR17
Comment=This session logs you into E17
Exec=/opt/e17/bin/enlightenment_start
# no icon yet, only the top three are currently used
Icon=
Type=Application

Modify the path to enlightenment_start to match your installation.
