Well, if you're running Ubuntu, you won't be using Suse packages and stuff on it. Bad Idea. There are Ubuntu repos at edevelop.org, as I recall, and morlenxus' build script works well.
And yes, March 3, 2006 cvs is sooooooo out of date. There are several new features that make it worth fighting to update.
