Thanks for the answers. I hoped there was way to automatically select
modules which are known to work, but it seems there is none yet. Just for
the record: I've found a script at the end of
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_emerge_e17
which runs on a module basis. It simply gets them from cvs and
compiles/installs them.
