I was just guessing that entrance found sessions to include in it by searching for "foo.desktop" such as /usr/local/e17/share/xsessions/enlightenment.desktop /usr/local/share/xsessions/e16.desktop I'm not sure if it is true. :) In my case entrance has four tabs: enlightenment, E16, default, and failsafe. Though there is a file /etc/X11/dm/Sessions/gnome.desktop in my environment, somehow GNOME isn't included in these tabs. In any case, As I wrote above, when executing entranced on the commandline of the console mode at runlevel 3, it normally runs and the dialog to log in comes up. But it aborts at runlevel 5. I wonder why.
