Perhaps I should write this on the gentoo list?
Emotion compiles up to a message

After that, a message about a "Sandbox Violation", which I believe is
unique to Gentoo, pointing to the logfile with the following entries:
open_wr: /root/.gconf/.testing.writeability
unlink: /root/.gconf/.testing.writeability
open_wr: /root/.gconfd/saved_state
open_wr: /root/.gconfd/saved_state
open_wr: /root/.gconfd/saved_state
open_wr: /root/.gconfd/saved_state.tmp
This has been going on for a couple of months, and seems to have
compromized e17 on this box. Perhaps this is related to USE flags?
My questions then are how to overcome this so it will compile, and
whether emotion is an important dependence that would cause other apps
to screw up. E17 hasn't been working well, I have been getting many
segfaults requiring to reset e17.
