My apologies. Correct, apps dont start but I believe its because system cant call consolehelper for some reason. I get a small window that states, verbatim: "Invalid Call to subprocess." Possibly consolehelper is unique to Fedora Core distro. All system apps requiring root privs to run are sym linked to consolehelper which produces the login window before the actual app strarts up. As I stated, this a new behavior I havent seen before. Nothing appears in the system log when the error box appears.
