I had the same problem and after hours of random configuration trials, I
figured out that for mbox the only field required are: Name and "New Mail
path".
But with mbox there is some bug and mail module don't work as it should.
After adding new mbox module don't check for mails and shows 0/0 even if
there are new and old mails.
Clicking couses to show "checking mail" icon and this check takes for
ever. Only e restart could stop it, but there still is 0/0.
Module stars to work corectly after reading mbox with mutt. From this
point information are updated on the fly.
Generaly after e start, first mail check is after new mail arrives or
after mutt change the mail box. Or maybe not mbox check and only
information update?
Shortly: there is some problem.
