It is problem in latest debian packages for unstable, libxrender-dev and
the same problem is with package libXcursor-dev. Try to extract this
file from package for testing repository and copy it to destination
directory. (I done it this way)

Links to download packages with missing file:
http://ftp.cz.debian.org/debian/pool/main/libx/libxrender/libxrender-dev_0.9.0.2-1_i386.deb
http://ftp.cz.debian.org/debian/pool/main/x/xcursor/libxcursor-dev_1.1.3-1_i386.deb

It shuld work normal, becaus it is only info file (not binary file).

Hello,

I am trying to build E17 from the CVS, but when compiling Ecore I get the following message:

(...)
creating libecore_x.la
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/libXrender.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/libXrender.la' is not a valid libtool archive

Any idea as to what may be the problem? I have installed the libxrender-dev and libxrender1 debian packages, but they provide /usr/lib/libXrender.a, not .la. Should I install anything else?

Thanks in advance,
Denís.
