Yes, it is a good thing. Would it be possible to add a RSS-Feed to the tarball website so that everyone who's subscribed to this feeds gets informed as soon as there is a new tarball available? A short comment of what has been changed since the last version would be great, too, e.g. "Fixed bug xyz, added feature abc." I know that this means some additional work (especially for Raster who creates the Tarballs), but it would give an overview of the planned download. If there's nothing "of interest" for me contained, I might not download it.
