Hi,

since there're more and more applications I begin to forget the names
and if I search for an application it's hard to remind.

e.g.

Eclair
Elicit
Embrace
Engage
Entice
Entrance
Entropy
eRSS
Evidence
Exhibit
Entangle

I've not the right to flame someone for his applications name, but am I
really the only person who has problems to remember these names? They
sounds too similar and most names aren't really intuitiv.

And I noticed that no E application has yet designed an app icon.
Please correct me if this is wrong! Why? Simply because no one did yet
create one? I couldn't believe this.

I understand that everyone needs a cool name for his own little
application as E is looking really cool. But perhaps some intuitive and
easy to remind names are also great. Or am I alone with this opinion?

I think it's good if a name of an application fits with the fist letter
of it's environment (here 'E'; somewhere else 'G' or 'K'), is a "cool"
word *and* the name is intuitive for the work that I like to do with
this application. So gedit or kwrite is perhaps a little boring, but
easy to remember. As we all often start apps from the command line this
is an important thing. Or did you never forget commands and curse until
you remind them:

Display all 190 possibilities? (y or n)

grr! :-P

regards
Andreas
