And exactly this is what I need. I can understand your concerns you have about changing the behaviour in e17, in fact, I don't want the behaviour in e17 to change. I just want an OPTION to have two parts of two windows on different desktops at once. Somewhere else in this thread a nice hack was proposed: When changing windows, check for windows overlapping and make them belong to the new desktop. Like you(?) mentioned there, this might cause trouble with some programs (like gimp), but there's no need to turn on the feature when using these programs. Furthermore, one could even limit the feature to certain programs... In e17, there's such a lot of features you can configure, and most users probably won't need all of the features e17 has. Besides this missing feature, e17 looks really nice, my question is just, if I'd implement this hack in a some weeks or months, is there a chance it could find its way as an (disabled per default) option into e17?
