I don't think I commented before, so let me wade in here in your
support. Yes, I upgraded and found my config changes didn't happen any
more. And so I had to go look into what the new file names were and how
they were supposed to look. And it was simpler. It was easier to read.
It made it possible for me to do more than I was able to do before and
in the case of controlling the icons for a particularly badly behaved,
in-house TCL/TK application, it reduced my multi-lined hack to less
lines that actually made sense. And it took me about 30 minutes to get
everything switched over and working, and in the process, I found other
stuff I could do, and refreshed some bits, and was happier for having
done so.

Surely, if you have the time to upgrade the core code, you have the time
to get it to work right. Frankly I've spent more time messing with
different themes and getting transparency and not getting Composite to
work on Solaris than I expended on these changes.

Maybe typing the original email took more time and effort than fixing
the config files? If you know how to use sed/awk, anyway.

Ta,
Mark.
