Many thanks anyway to everyone who got this working on Solaris - I think
I still prefer e16 for now.  But I have the code to make the
temperature, battery and CPUfreq stuff work on Solaris 10u1 if anyone is
interested?  My Gnome applet re-purposing of emiFreq to Solaris is
supposed to be appearing on the Sun Download Centre / OpenSolaris site
as soon as Legal have done with it...
