I'm working with the "more advanced example" on the Imlib2 page:

I'm wondering how to get imlib2 to do transparency. Using the gimp,
I just cut a rectangle out of bg.png (i.e., so now there's a
transparent "hole" in bg.png").
However, when I run the example program, that "hole" is rendered in
black. I can't seem to figure out how to get the program to
actually render that rectangle with transparency.
Any hints?
