IMHO, that would be nice, but it would require some big changes in the
way that emblem works (i.e. it would be more than just a background
selector). Mabye having an 'import image' option would be the best way
to do it.

AFAIK metacity uses a different kind of window focus. If you don't like
sloppy focus use enlightenment_remote to change it.

I've only been around the linux crowd for a few months, so I don't quite
know about it myself, but I have heard other people complaining about
it, for example
<http://developers.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=160273&cid=13415673>.

Personally, I don't really mind how Gnome really is right now. It would
be a great destop for me to reccomend to my friends who can't stand any
level of complexity, but e17 is a very different animal.

When I see people talking about 'usability' and 'linux' usually they
mean something like 'how do we make linux look like MS Windows' (or
OSX). Which is tragic because the Windows/OSX desktop paradigm is not
the only way to make a gui.

e17 is a windows manager with a couple of applications, it caters to a
fairly specific niche. To try and make it into a desktop I think would
be a mistake, and I have the feeling that that is the first thing that
any 'usability' study would try to do.

IMO, that would be a nice idea, but only if the user has hal, don't make
it a requirement because not everyone needs or wants hal.
