Hello List,

I am running E17/FC4 and have been having a world of trouble with WM
crashes and frequent segfaults.

After a recent update to xorg packages the crashing WM seems to have
gone away, but the frequent segfaults are still happening.

Here is some output from a gdb backtrace when the gray segfault box
appeared:

I am guessing there still is a bug with the X stuff that is packaged
with the FC/RH distros, but not sure.  Does the above give any clues?
Sorry but all I have right now is an rpm install of e17.

After following the emails on distros I am almost to a point of
considering another distro.  At this point leaning towards gentoo.  How
is acpi dealt with in gentoo, or how well does gentoo work with acpi?

Many Thanks,
jim
