    Hello List,

I am now transistioning from e16 to e17. I really liked being able to
have multiple backgrounds in different desktops. Which is doable in
e17. What I haven't been able to figure out is how to get the
transparency to reflect the current background of the current desktop.
I have searched the archives and played woit e17setroot / Esetroot but
    haven't found the right combination.

    Any ideas / suggestions?

I use e17setroot to fake bg transparency, but I'm not sure what you mean with "right combination" though..

I am not sure what I mean either. What I am trying to figure out is: Have a different background in each virtual desktop. Then when I start up eterm/aterm/gnome-terminal in desktop 1 and turn on the transparency it matches the background of that desktop. Then when I start a terminal while in desktop 2 with a different background and turn on transparency in that terminal it matches that background, not the one from desktop 1.

I have tried issueing an e17setroot in a terminal in each desktop, but which ever is issued last is the one that is used.

I checked the enlightenment_remote command but didn't see any clues there.

Ideas / Suggestions?

TIA,
jim
