i also guessed it would be smth. with the theme. so i did a " mv .e .olde " in my home dir. without luck. i just build a new set from cvs with the same ( and more... ) prob. but whenever i install the apps ( e, e_utils, e_modules, engage ) newer than 8/18, i have no pointer. it sais smth. about " no xinerama extension on display 0:0 " and " no default mouse pointer " ( sorry, i couldn't copy the exact error here ) i'm going to upgrade e, e_utils, e_modules, engage apart to see which is causing this ghost pointer. more on that later. btw.: am i the only one with a missing pointer.? also, could it be that my way to update is no good? i update the cvs tree, and run ./autogen.sh ; make; make install ( as simple as possible ) in every dir. i need. ( in the right order ) could there be the error ? also i noticed that, when i load the engage module, it won't show up in the menu editor anymore ? it always did and i don't remember doing any configuration for that. am i missing smth. here ? >>2) i enlarged the default and title bar text sizes and they show up >>correct at startup. >>but after using the pc for a while , textsizes drop back to the default >>( smaller ) size. >>when i reload the theme, the size is according to my settings again, but >>not for long. >>i haven't found a certain action that causes it to change, so i don't >>have a clue. >> >> > >for now - don't worry about that - i know things have issues there. i'll get to >that eventually. > > ok. > > >>3) am i able to change ( enlarge ) the text size of the gadgets ? >>i mean the temperature readout and the readings in the monitor, >>because i find them a little to small. >> >> > >that depends on the theme :) sure you can - if you fiddle with the theme. >eventually i will get to making all the text class stuff work so fonts and >sizes can be set by a user properly - right now it's half-arsed. > > oh..ok...i'm not yet up to theme editing right now, but it looks interesting. i'm sure gonna try that in the future. :) > > >>4) i read that transparancy won't work, because other apps cannot "read" >>the background image. >>but when i use konqueror, the transparant menu's work ok. >> >> > >thats because just before they appear they grab the screen contents where the >menu will go over then calculate a new image with that as the base and stuff >blended on top. try this: go to a web page with an animated gif - pop up the >menu so its over the animation... then watch as the stuff under the menu is >frozen - but the stuff outside keeps moving. it's a hack. > > > it's a nice hack then :) thanks , egag ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ enlightenment-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/enlightenment-users
