Upgrade dude!  Have you thought about upgrading imlib2 and e16? Did
you realize that the latest stable version is 0.16.7.1.? ;-)

You should check out the link provided by Jim Lawrence. Additionally
you could install imlib2 via my yum/apt repository.

follow the instructions and do a

yum check-update
yum install imlib2

you can even install e16 from my repos if you intend to have e16 and
e17 together by a simple:

yum install e16.

Check out my faq page for details.

That's why there exist a repository. i.e. for users to avoid hassles.
:-p But if you like having hassles and prefer to tweak things and hack
stuff your own way, suit yourself!

Also try a standard theme first. For some themes, you should install
appropriate fonts or else you can't see anything.
