I imagined. I want to place it correctly, since remember can't do it.
Again I think it is a kind of xmms bug, because it always want to be
sticky and have no borders... there actually are some xmms
"preferences" but changing them doesn't make a difference....

Are you sure that is correct for 0.16.8? I thought that was fixed.

I compiled it.... enlightenment 0.16.8-0.7
$ e16 -V
Enlightenment 0.16.8 - $Date: 2005/03/26 12:12:00 $

Hmmm. It works for me. Setting border/no border, stickyness, layering,
all work just by setting xmms preferences.

I assume you don't actually mean xcompmgr, but the built-in one.

which built-in one? is there such a thing? I downloaded and compiled
xcompmgr and all those composite stuff just starts working after I run
it!....

0.16.8 has a built-in composite manager, see the "Composite Settings..." dialog. It should be able to do a much better job than xcompmgr.

aha! so I should have used --enable-composite when I compiled it?
Because when I click "Composite Settings..." nothing happens.... isn't
that option on "yes" by default?

Yes, --enable-composite is yes by default. Don't you get the "Composite
settings" dialog? If not, I think maybe your menus.cfg is bad.
Does "eesh cm cfg" pop up the dialog?
