It's a bug. In the meantime, replace the "cut_chars" line in
theme.cfg with the one from the original (which Eterm would've backed
up for you as theme.cfg.YYYYMMDD.HHMMSS). It should look something
like this:
cut_chars "\t\\\`\\\"\'&() *,;<=>[EMAIL PROTECTED]|}"
