(B> Yes i know. Raster just checked in code to do shading so these things
(B> are a bit further down the road.
(B> Anyway.
(B> My requests:
(B> 1)
(B> Some way to change all your themes when you change your E17-theme.
(B> When i change a theme i want it to change for all my applications.
(B> Like for engage (icon-theme or whatever), gtk, ewl, entice etc etc.
(B> I'm not sure how you would do this. Maybe some global signal that all
(B> e-apps will listen to that contains the name of the theme. The app
(B> would then of course check if there are any skin/theme that matches
(B> for example "winter" and change ackordingly. Then maybe a hack or two
(B> for gtk, qt and other potentially important non-E programs that are
(B> skinned.
(B> Maybe you could store the themes in /usr/share/themes like gnome does
(B> so that a meta-theme could contain both a E17-theme and a
(B> metacity-theme. Oh well. What i want is pretty much covered by now :)
(B
(Ba long way off. likely we will look at gtk/qt theme engines at some point (write
(Bones) that can use e themes. still - a long way off.
(B
(B> 2)
(B> XComposite support when it is fast enough. I guess this is something
(B> that is planned. XComposite probably won't be 40 times slower than
(B> imlib2 forever (http://xorg.freedesktop.org/wiki/X11R68ScreenShots
(B> point 2 under caveats). So basically, when it is fast enough could
(B> we see E17 with shadows on other windows (not just the background) and
(B> true transperancy? True transparency is probably something i'd only
(B> want for engage and Eterm anyway but real shadows is nice.
(B
(Bwhen xrender stops sucking on a large scale (ie most people have a non sucking
(Bone) then we'll look at it. until then its shelved. xrender has been slow since
(B1999 and still is. i hold little hope of it becoming fast any time soon. so
(Bconsider this shelved until such a time.
(B
(B> Thanks for all the work you put in this.
(B> I've been following enlightenment and its development since the days of
(B> efm and many times thought that E17 wouldn't be released in my lifetime.
(B> But now its pretty exciting with the wm being in cvs and all.
(B
(Bit will happen :) we just don't like making arbitrary release dates and then
(B"begin late". or not delivering. we will let people know when alphas and betas
(Band release candidates are happening - then you can be sure its close. until
(Bthen its business as usual in cvs :)
