The problem is that these strings are not in the C source code but in a
configuration file (menus.cfg).
One way to make it work is as follows (I'm not sure it's the proper way
to do it - maybe some gettext guru out there can tell if there is a
better way):
Add e.g. "po/misc-strings.c" to the list of files containing strings to
be localized in po/POTFILES.in.
Create po/misc-strings.c containing the strings you want to localize, e.g.:
_("Focus Settings ...")
_("Move & Resize Settings ...")
...
After rerunning autogen, etc. these strings will go into the po files,
and will get translated as usual. It should be possible to translate
menu titles as well this way.
I forgot to mention that this requires 0.16.7pre5 to work.
