The thing is that I do want to compile E. Actually, I already did it. It
works better (don't ask me why, it just does). For instance, the mouse
pointer in the rpm does not change properly when entering/leaving windows.
I'm sure this is only on my machine, but I can't explain why.

You are right, I could stick to esound rpms, but I think it might be 
better to try to compile esound, at least to give it a try.

Brad: there's no libtool-devel. I'm using the same version of libtool you 
have: 1.5.6
