There is a menu theme setting specifying the max number of items in a column. I think some themes don't set it causing these menu problems.
Where (what file) is the menu theme setting and what is the name of the setting?
I think typically in menustyles/menustyles.cfg, last parameter in the NORMAL_MENU_STYLE_VERTICAL macro.
