Actually, the topic of developing an E distro belongs on the devel list, not here. And yes, it's off-topic. It's already starting to degenerate into an argument over the relative merits of various distributions. (In fact, that's really how it started, if you'll recall.) It's no more on-topic than a discussion of which distribution runs Eterm the best, or which distribution has the nicest compile of Entrance. The reality is this: Maintaining a distro is hard, and most people lack the tools and/or time to do it. You can all yak about it until you're blue in the face, but until somebody stops yakking and starts putting something together, the discussion is pointless. Besides that, I've been listening to raster and others bitch and moan and whine about SysVinit for the past 6 years. Not once have I seen anything useful come out of it, nor am I aware of anything anyone has done that SysVinit can't already do.
