There's a *possibility* - I'm not sure and haven't tracked it down yet -
that the fixes to the ...e* files has caused a new bug. It seems that
some stuff isn't getting recorded correctly when E is shut down -
specifically in my case by gnome-session exiting. Some bits seem to be
remembered, others don't. Not sure yet, though. I'm seeing positions
of some windows that have always been where I put them being forgotten
on the next restart, while remembers I've just done that last time are
fine. Could it be that older stuff got thrown out?

A few things changed with pre6:

...e_session-XXXXXX.snapshots.0 (the saved settings) is now saved when E is killed. I think this should be OK.

...e_session-XXXXXX.clients.0 and the "snapping" works slightly different than before. I think it doesn't work entirely as intended.
In most cases window settings from the previous session are remembered but settings from older sessions are forgotten. Sometimes also the settings from the last session are forgotten.
Will dig into it.

After some testing I think that things work as they should, at least in my usual setup (also gnome-session).
